after an airline broke his surfboard in transit, our founder, danny knew there had to be a better way to protect surfboards during travel. that’s when shoal surf was born.

Growing up in the UK, Danny always had a love for the ocean, but it was a fateful trip abroad that sparked the idea for Shoal Surf. Determined to find a better way to protect his board, Danny used pool woggles and tape as a makeshift solution, which became a reacquiring issue as these couldn't be reused. Time after time wondered why there wasn’t anything on the market that truly protected surfboards during travel.

That’s when ‘Eddy’ was created—the ultimate surf sock. Inspired by the way fish come together in a shoal to protect each other. Danny envisioned Shoal Surf as a brand that not only provides products that protect surfboards but fosters a community of surfers who care about the planet, the ocean and want to be a board.
